What started as a casual group of friends training for a half marathon or two turned into 100+ women running, socializing and having fun on any given day of the week. Started by Paula Mitchell and now carried on by a group dedicated to continuing the fun and friendships Paula fostered. With maybe some running, too.
We welcome you any time of the year, although beginners are encouraged to start with the group in September if possible. With as many runners as we have, you will be sure to find someone running at your pace and desired distance. It can be overwhelming at first, but just show up and introduce yourself to someone and you’re ready to go. In the spring, we will travel someplace fun for our group half-marathon. You do not have to commit to the trip (or to training for such a long distance event) to run in the group. For a lot of women, it’s helpful to have a goal. It keeps us running through the winter months and provides a focus to the training. We currently have women training for a wide range of events but most of us are aiming for the spring half-marathon.
