SPORTISIMO PRAGUE HALF MARATHON
Prague, Czech Republic
Saturday, March 28, 2020
We are so excited to announce that the 2020 WRW half marathon will be in Prague!
Prague, capital city of the Czech Republic, is bisected by the Vltava River. Nicknamed “the City of a Hundred Spires,” it is a magical city of bridges; cathedrals; a real, live castle; extravagant, fairy-tale architecture; memorable classical music; and the best beer in Europe!
The race plays host to over 10,000 runners, attracting a wide range of participants from elite runners to Czech school children. The course is flat and fast. It begins and ends at Jana Palacha Square and criss-crosses over and around the river making for a scenic run. There is a 3-hour cut off, which we feel very confident that all our runners will be able to meet.
Every year we have many new WRW members, so a word about how the annual trip works. First of all, the half marathon trip is for WRW runners only. No husbands, no partners, no kids, no non-runners. This weekend is all about you and the women in the running group. If you’d like to talk about this, just let one of us know! Second, for the most part, the entire trip is planned for you. There are a few things you will need to do to make your travel plans, but we’ll let you know as the time comes for those items. The most important thing throughout is simply to keep running!
