{"id":2040,"date":"2020-01-05T03:20:00","date_gmt":"2020-01-05T03:20:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/womenrunningtheworld.com\/beginners\/?p=2040"},"modified":"2020-08-10T03:22:58","modified_gmt":"2020-08-10T03:22:58","slug":"2019-20-beginners-week-20","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/womenrunningtheworld.com\/beginners\/2020\/01\/05\/2019-20-beginners-week-20\/","title":{"rendered":"2019-20 Beginners Week 20"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Happy New Year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I hope everyone had a wonderful break. \u00a0It was so fun to run with some of you on Friday &#8211; thank you for getting me out of bed to help my jet lag! \u00a0We are looking forward to running with you on Thursday and hearing how you spent your break.\u00a0 I hope you all managed to do at least a bit of running over the past few weeks.\u00a0 If you haven\u2019t, please let one of us know so we can help you take it easy \u2013 we don\u2019t want any injuries!<br><br>For the next 2 weeks, we will be doing 60 minute runs on Thursday to remind ourselves that we can do this!\u00a0 We want to make sure you all have a strong base to build on when we start to increase our time and mileage the week after next.\u00a0 Thursday, we will do a loop that will have plenty of opportunity for red men for most of the run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that after next week, most of our runs will start to be destination runs, meaning that we will end someplace that is not SJW.&nbsp; This is because we need to run further and longer while also trying to keep us as flat as possible and with some interesting places to keep us distracted while we run.&nbsp; We have mapped out a tentative schedule below, subject to change.&nbsp; This should help you determine your timing for getting back to SJW after the run.&nbsp; Please make it a habit to bring your Oyster Card or contactless card.&nbsp; If you have questions, please let us know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Week 21 Jan 16\u00a0\u2013\u00a060 min &#8211; probably a loop going down to Hyde Park and back<br>Week 22 Jan 23 \u2013 70 min \u2013 Borough Market<br>Week 23 Jan 30 \u2013 80 min = Brompton Cemetery\/Whole Foods Kensington<br>Week 24 Feb 6 \u2013 90 min = Sloane Sq\/Green Park\u00a0(note &#8211; this is parent-teacher conf at ASL)<br>Week 25 Feb 13 \u2013 100 min = Big Ben and\u00a0back\u00a0<br>Week 26 Feb 20 \u2013 February break \u2013 60 min run<br>Week 27 Feb 27 \u2013 110 min = Wembley<br>Week 28 Mar 5 \u2013 120 min = Canada Water<br>Week 29 Mar 12 \u2013 90 min = TBD<br>Week 30 Mar 19 \u2013 130 min =\u00a0Kew Gardens<br>Week 31 Mar 25 \u2013 45 min = easy run through Regents Park (note this is a Wednesday since we leave for the race the next day)<br>RACE DAY!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For now, keep doing 45 minutes on Tuesdays and 30-35 minutes on the weekend. \u00a0This will increase in a few weeks, but not yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This week\u2019s route:This route takes Elsworthy Rd to Primrose Hill Rd (left) and quick right onto King Henry\u2019s Rd to the end to cross the bridge and turn right onto Regent\u2019s Park Rd then turn right onto Chalk Farm Rd\/Camden High Street. \u00a0Just after crossing the canal, turn right onto Jamestown Rd and left to Arlington Rd. \u00a0After Mornington Crescent, run briefly on Hampstead Rd and then turn right on Granby Terrace (if you can &#8211; it may be blocked) or at Vardell or Robert Street to meet up with Stanhope St. \u00a0Turn left on Stanhope and run to Triton Rd.
