Note 13 Oct 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hello Beginner-runners,<\/p>\n<p>I love our group!!!\u00a0 I wake up on Thursday mornings and think \u201cYay!\u00a0 It\u2019s beginner running day!!\u201d.\u00a0 I\u2019m serious about that.\u00a0 We are really starting to settle into a routine which is fabulous and I love to see how committed you are to your running.\u00a0 People are meeting up outside of our scheduled time when they have meetings or appointments &#8211; it\u2019s perfect!\u00a0 This could be the best beginner group yet (and no, I don\u2019t say that every year).\u00a0 Ladies, I hope you\u2019ve taken a moment to think about what you\u2019ve already accomplished.\u00a0 Last week we ran for 28 minutes with 2 x 4 minute intervals and 4 x 5 minute intervals.\u00a0 That\u2019s huge!\u00a0 28 minutes is a lot of running.\u00a0 It\u2019s a good idea to think back to week one from time to time.\u00a0 We struggled to jog for 60 seconds.\u00a0 This week we also got a taste of street running.\u00a0 It\u2019s nice to run in the park or on the canal, but now we\u2019re running so far that we\u2019ve \u201coutgrown\u201d Regents Park.\u00a0 Throughout the program, we\u2019ll try to run as much as possible in the parks, along the river, along the canals but we always have to run the streets to get to those places.\u00a0 So it\u2019s great to start practicing.<\/p>\n<p>Next Thursday, we\u2019re doing our first destination run to Big Ben.\u00a0 For those of you will not be there<\/p>\n<div class=\"tinyText style_SkipStroke_1 inline-block\" style=\"height: 289px; width: 285px; clear: right; float: right; margin: 3px 0px 3px 3px;\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; height: 289px; width: 286px;\" src=\"https:\/\/womenrunningtheworld.com\/beginners\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2016\/02\/droppedImage.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/div>\n<p>on Thursday, this is a map of our route.\u00a0 We\u2019ll walk from Starbucks over to Lisson Grove then start heading south towards Hyde Park.\u00a0 We\u2019ll do 5, 6, and 7 minute intervals but it won\u2019t exactly work that precisely.\u00a0 With all the street crossings our intervals will be more broken up than that.\u00a0 Basically, the run to Big Ben should feel easier than our run last week.\u00a0 I\u2019m serious about that.\u00a0 We\u2019re going further, but we\u2019ll have lots of little mini-breaks at lights.\u00a0 At the finish, we\u2019ll take a few group photos and hopefully we can find a way to give everyone access to those photos.\u00a0 I\u2019m not sure how to do that????\u00a0 After the run, most of the group will head back to SJW for coffee (unless someone knows of a larger coffee shop in that area &#8211; the only one I know is the Costa or Nero and it\u2019s tiny).\u00a0 Big Ben.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_2\">Running Group T-shirts<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_3\">Our running shirts are ready and each of us owe Chris Roberts a big hug!!!!\u00a0 She organized the printing of the shirts and thank goodness that Kelli Montanaro has an eye for design.\u00a0 She helped Chris with the t-shirt design.\u00a0 Chris and Kelli, thank you so much!!!!\u00a0 The shirts are black, short-sleeved, dri-fit, Nike shirts that have our new logo on the front and \u201cRun Like a Girl\u201d on the back.\u00a0 Orders are due by Friday, 19 October.\u00a0 To order a shirt, update our group\u2019s Google doc &#8211; <a class=\"style_3\" title=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheet\/ccc?key=0AlPYNmKuXK9DdDJ2a3JzSERIY0E2YkVlWmVjRnpWMnc\" the printing, tax, shipping, etc.\u00a0 You can pay for the shirt by cash or check (made out to Paula Mitchell) &#8211; give payment to Kelli Montanaro or myself or you can mail payment to me at:<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_4\">Paula Mitchell<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_5\">Payment must be received by Friday, 19 October or your order will not be placed.\u00a0 If you haven\u2019t had a chance to try on a sample shirt, the samples will be at the ASL Booster Store on Tuesday from 2:30-4:00.\u00a0 You could also leave an envelope at the ASL booster store with your payment.\u00a0 Please put it in an envelope and write your name and Running Group on the outside.\u00a0 DO NOT give your cash\/cheque to the booster store workers or your funds could be comingled with store proceeds and your order will not be placed.\u00a0 If you want a shirt but are out-of-town or not able to send payment this week, let me know.\u00a0 We\u2019ll sort something out.\u00a0 No worries!<span class=\"style_4\" style=\"line-height: 18px;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_6\"><span class=\"style_5\" style=\"line-height: 18px;\">Bratislava Race Registration:<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_5\">The race director was hoping to have race registration open on 1 October but that date has slipped by.\u00a0 He is hoping the online registration will be active in the next few days.\u00a0 I\u2019ll let you know when it\u2019s working.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph_style_5\">That\u2019s it for this week.\u00a0 Please let me know if there\u2019s
