{"id":1248,"date":"2015-12-16T17:29:54","date_gmt":"2015-12-16T17:29:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/womenrunningtheworld.com\/beginners\/?p=1248"},"modified":"2016-02-28T17:30:57","modified_gmt":"2016-02-28T17:30:57","slug":"beginners-week-15-16-dec-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/womenrunningtheworld.com\/beginners\/2015\/12\/16\/beginners-week-15-16-dec-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Beginners Week 15:  16 Dec 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Hi everyone!<\/p>\n<div class=\"\">So sorry for this extremely late email. \u00a0It\u2019s been one of those weeks &#8211; just haven\u2019t been able to get it together!<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">What a great run down to see the lights on Oxford &amp; Regent Streets last week. \u00a0You all continue to amaze us &#8211; it was a HUGE jump up in running time and you all made it seem so easy. \u00a0It might not have felt so easy, but it was definitely nice having the lights as a distraction.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Some of you have mentioned that the Thursday runs feel easier because they are slower. \u00a0First, it is important to try to make yourself run slowly when you are not with us on Thursday &#8211; this will help keep injuries away and will build your long range muscles. \u00a0Second, it is time now to start to break up into pace groups, especially when you run with each other on Tuesdays. \u00a0I know you all enjoy chatting with everyone in the group, but if you are at different paces, some of you will not have a great run &#8211; it will be either too fast or too slow. \u00a0It is better to be running at the pace at which you are comfortable! \u00a0It\u2019s also OK if you don\u2019t do the exact route together. \u00a0It\u2019s not about the route, it\u2019s about the distance\/time. \u00a0We are happy to talk about this with you!<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Over break, it is important to keep running if at all possible. \u00a0You have all come so far &#8211; you just need to maintain where you are over the next 2 weeks. \u00a0It\u2019s OK if you don\u2019t run a full length run &#8211; it\u2019s better to go out a few times a week and run 30 minutes than to not run at all. \u00a0The schedule has you running the next 2 Thursdays at the same times as we are this week &#8211; 30 min twice with a 5 minute walk break in between. \u00a0If you can get out there and do that &#8211; terrific. \u00a0If not, it\u2019s fine! \u00a0When we come back, we will have one more week of 30\/5\/30 and then we will (gasp!) drop those walk breaks completely. \u00a0You will be ready.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">For tomorrow, we are going to run down to Hyde Park so you can see how to get there. \u00a0It\u2019s a great place to go for your Tuesday runs &#8211; easy to get to, and then you get the park to run in. \u00a0We will end at the Starbucks at the Green Park tube so\u00a0<b class=\"\">BRING YOUR OYSTER CARD!<\/b><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\">Directions for the run:<\/div>\n<div class=\"\">From Barclays, head down Circus Rd and turn left on Lisson Grove. \u00a0Run to Marylebone Road and cross over to Seymour Place. \u00a0At the end, turn right, cross over Edgware Road (be careful at this light) and run straight for one block on Seymour Road. \u00a0Turn left on Stanhope Place and then cross Hyde Park Pl to get into Hyde Park. \u00a0When you see the silver globe, after crossing North Carriage Dr, turn right. \u00a0Follow that path as it curves left. \u00a0Turn left to run along the Serpentine (alternatively, you can cross over the Serpentine and run on the other side). \u00a0At the end of the Serpentine, make you way out of the gates to Hyde Park Corner and cross over Knightsbridge to run through the Wellington Arch and into Green Park. \u00a0Run diagonally to the left to go towards the tube station at the far end.<\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"\"><img decoding=\"async\" id=\"2C9A474A-FE96-45AB-9102-7AB4019F2195\" class=\" Apple-web-attachment-container\" src=\"cid:743A58A1-31CB-42ED-9861-B3D59E528E1E@lan\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2015-12-16 at 3.46.14 PM\" \/><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi everyone!
